You've done the work. But something still doesn't feel right.

You understand a lot about yourself. You’ve read the books, talked it through, maybe tried therapy before. You know your patterns and perhaps exactly where they came from.

And yet knowing hasn’t changed how it feels to be you.

Maybe the problem isn’t that you haven’t tried hard enough.

Of course, talking helps. Insight matters. But understanding why you feel the way you do isn’t the same as being ok.

At some point, change has to become something you can actually feel and own.

This is where my work fits in.

Hi, I’m Helen.

I’ve worked with counselling clients for 15 years, continually learning through further training, my own personal development and hundreds of client relationships with people from all walks of life and corners of the world.

My superpower is seeing and pulling at the threads between things that can feel completely separate when you’re living inside them. I don’t try to make you fit one model of therapy; my training is broad enough that we can work with what is actually happening for you.

So what’s different?

You don’t need more information about yourself for the sake of it.

We work with what happens when all that understanding meets real life; the moment your body reacts, a protective part takes over, an old relationship pattern appears, or you know exactly what you want to do but still can’t seem to do it.

That might mean slowing something right down, noticing what happens in your body, getting curious about the part of you that is trying to protect you, or looking at whether the story you are telling yourself is the only truth.

The point isn’t to analyse you more deeply.

It’s to help what you already know become something you can actually feel, use and live.

This work could be for you if:

  • You understand yourself pretty well already, but knowing hasn’t changed how it feels to be you.

  • You’re tired of ending up in the same loops with different people, jobs or circumstances.

  • You want to work with your body and emotions as well as your thoughts.

  • You’re interested in IFS, parts work, somatics, trauma, attachment or nervous system work — but don’t want to have to choose the “right” modality yourself.

  • You want depth without spending forever trawling through the past.

  • You’re willing to be curious, honest and try things out rather than looking for someone else to give you all the answers.

  • Ultimately, you want what happens in therapy to become something you can do for yourself.

What clients have said about the work...

“I think mainly the practice element of what I'm learning with you — it's not just sit down and speak, it really is learning a practice like yoga or knitting, and I can feel the progress I'm making.”

“I remember you giving me examples with my parents or other situations, and I just wouldn't accept it. It felt so foreign to me, like boundaries are not for me, not my culture, you wouldn't understand. But you were able to get through to me, and once I saw it, I never turned back. Knowing and understanding it as a concept and feeling it on your skin are two different things.”

“It feels easy, comfortable, like a conversation over coffee. Your ability to pull common threads out of seemingly unrelated experiences, and your ability to recognise shifts in comfort, to gently explore them and understand them without feeling intrusive. With you I leave the session feeling lighter, and processing and reflecting on what we've talked about happens in bits as I notice things in the following days and weeks.”

“I engage better with feelings that might arise and am more understanding and empathetic towards myself. I'm able to find a story to why I'm reacting in a certain way and instead of scolding myself, allowing myself to acknowledge it, give it warmth and acceptance and find safety again. I've been able to nurture safe connections and relationships which has only aided me in my journey, as I'm able to talk about myself openly and without fear of judgement.”
